Whether you choose pots or buckets to use when growing, you must make sure your container is clean, large enough to allow for root growth and have adequate drainage holes.

The size of the container is important too, judge it by how big your plant is/will become. A 10 litre bucket makes a good tomato plant pot.

Several containers can be linked together using grommets, to share one drainline or to share a flood and drain line.

Don't forget that buckets can be used for mixing nutrients also!
